Connecting Healthcare in Communities (CHIC) in the Southern Area will endeavour to engage primary health care service providers from the southern banks of the Brisbane River down the east coast to the southern border of Queensland and out to the western border of the state. Partnership Councils have been established locally on the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Darling Downs, South West, West Moreton & South Burnett and Brisbane Southside.  Negotiations are well on the way to establishing an Indigenous specific Partnership Council for the Southern Area.

With a membership representative of all the Partnership Councils, the Southern Area CHIC Governance Council is well established to provide guidance and governance for the CHIC Initiative.

Partnership Councils in the Southern Area have received funding for their approved Joint Service Delivery and Innovation Project proposals.  Further details can be found here.
