Central
Connecting Healthcare in Communities (CHIC) in the Central Area will include primary health care service providers north of the Brisbane River up to Rockhampton and west to Longreach. Planning and consultation with the non-government sector indicates Partnership Councils are emerging in the Central Queensland, Central West, Wide Bay and Fraser Coast, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane Northside.
A Central Area CHIC Partnership, with representation from each of the five Partnership Councils and broadly representative of the key stakeholders in the primary health care, is likely to be established to provide governance support and guidance.
Partnership Councils are in the process of establishing auspicing organisations, electing Chairs and will be well placed to jointly develop submissions for Service Delivery and Innovation Funding proposals in 2008.
